Ahead of the CAR Africa 7’s Women Cup tournament, which was to be held in Nairobi for the first time ever, there was a need to position women’s rugby as a serious sport, and to raise awareness and excitement that would translate in massive support of the Kenyan national team.
Through traditional and online media platforms, we channelled narratives that brought a face to women’s rugby.
Over a period of 3 months, awareness of the sport, recognition and celebration of the Kenya Lionesses and media engagement grew significantly.
This favourable image has been sustained to date, with increased engagement online, and in main line media during headline tournaments.
