Our Founder
Julie’s career in corporate communications spans 15 years. She founded Traction Communications in December 2013 “to offer a differentiated and personalized service” to marketers and brand custodians in Kenya. Prior to this, she served as Head of Strategy & Planning at Ogilvy Kenya.
A passionate worker with a calling to excellence, Julie’s career as a communications consultant has been accentuated by a host of exciting and memorable projects – key among them, building Emirates profile in East Africa, rolling out brand ambassadorship campaigns for Tusker, Guinness and Malta Guinness, raising the profile of Lafarge East Africa’s environment conservation initiatives, and supporting MDG 4 and 5 advocacy in Kenya.
At Traction Communications, she focuses on the ongoing sustainability of the agency, creates strategic communication frameworks for the client campaigns and oversees all client service.
She is a graduate of Kenyatta University (Bachelor of Education– German and Business Studies), and holds a post-‐graduate diploma in Public Relations Management from the Kenya Institute of Management. She has also gained immensely from strategic communications training programmes, and participated in training workshops in Nairobi, Johannesburg, Dubai and London.
She is a member of the Public Relations Society of Kenya, and the Marketing Society of Kenya, and alsoserves as a Judge in the annual PRSK Excellence Awards.
